Add the day and month of your date of birth to the calendar year of your last birthday. This can be 2008 or 2009 depending on when you last celebrated your birthday. Your Year Number changes every time you have a birthday.

Personal Year numbers are taken from my book, Numbers Do Not Lie.

Example for someone born 30^th December:

Add together 3+0 (day) + 1 + 2 (month) + 2+0+0+8 (year of your last birthday) = 16, 1+6 = 7 Personal Year Number. Keep adding until the numbers are reduced to a single digit.

Example for someone born 3rd January:

Add together 3 (day) + 1 (month) + 2+0+0+9 (year of your last birthday) = 15, 1+5 = 6 Personal Year Number. Keep adding until the numbers are reduced to a single digit.

Remember that your Personal Year number changes with your birthday.

Number One Personal Year

Using your wisdom and planning on an intellectual level will set the tempo for this year. Expect lots of activity, as this is the beginning of a new nine-year cycle for you. Take the initiative, set the tasks, do your homework, consider the advice that is given to you and then have the courage and the confidence to follow through with your decisions. This is the time for you to start up a new business, a new job or even a new relationship. What you do this year will have an affect on the next nine years of your life. This year will be such that will demand that you put your best foot forward and have the courage to make your own decisions.

You will feel a surge in energy as you sense the push for advancement; take the opportunity that life is now offering you. Do something that will broaden your outlook and give you a fresh perspective on things if nothing else. Life is pushing you to stand on your own two feet, towards independence, leadership and self-reliance. This year you will have to depend more on yourself than on others if you wish to accomplish your expectations. Take care of your health, especially in the early part of the year. Mental interests and mental creativity vibrate to this number. Make use of your mental attributes this year.

This year places you at a turning point in your life. Just take a minute to consider the importance of this reality. You cannot change the past, so let go of the baggage if you have not already done so. The future is in your hands. When you use the new opportunities that this year brings for the benefit of others as well as yourself, success will undoubtedly be yours.

Number Two Personal Year

Unlike the Number One Personal Year the number two being the number of relationships and partnerships will mean that much of your time this year will be spent with others, both socially and in business. Ask for help from friends and colleagues if you need to and do not feel guilty about this, as what other people can do for you is very much a part of this year’s trend. This year is about achieving success by getting on with people and working as part of a team. It’s about working with others, more so than on your own. Excitement, new contacts, surprises and enjoyment are on the cards. Consider your ideas and your future goals. Do not rush things and avoid being impatient. Understand that your goals take time to reach maturity.

The sensitivity of the number two may bring you some soul-searching experiences. It is in your best interest to avoid impulsive action or laying blame on others. Should you find yourself wishing to end a relationship, then let it be with consideration and without bitterness for all concerned. Maintain a happy disposition, work as part of a team and you will find that the year’s end will have any problems resolved. Using negotiation and compromise in your relationships will see you come out on top. Go into things with a win-win attitude for best results.

Understand that everything is as it should be. Feel comfortable with where you are right now and enjoy more time for yourself in the pursuit of personal interests with your favourite people. This is a year for sharing good times with those that are special to you.

Number Three Personal Year

This year is about you; it is your year for self-expression. Use your inspiration, creative thinking and imagination to get you where you want to go. You will feel a strong desire for self -improvement, follow your dreams, pursue the idea, but do not ’throw caution to the wind.’ Watch out for that sensitivity and remember that self-improvement does not mean self-importance. Be on the alert for anyone trying to sweet-talk you for his or her own benefit. Falling for flattery or false praise can dampen the joy and prosperity that this year is offering you.

Joy, happiness and prosperity is the intention of the number three vibration, but the degree of happiness will depend on how and in what situations you demonstrate your emotions. Remember that emotions can be for joy or for sadness. Sometimes life can throw ’a spanner in the works.’ Avoid situations or relationships that have you sacrificing yourself and depleting your reserves. Choose to be optimistic and happy, visualize where you want to be so that next year you will be able to set to work on your strategies for achievement. By the end of your Three Personal Year you will find that what had seemed impossible, will be accomplished, giving you a feeling of satisfaction and fulfillment.

Use common courtesy, be considerate, and listen to the advice that others give you, but make your own decisions. If you are at a stage in life where you feel contented and fulfilled without the need to make changes, then simply enjoy the year, have fun and share your optimism with those around you. There will be times throughout the year when you will feel a sense of youthful abandonment. Romance is definitely in the air. Enjoy the good encounters of the season always with sincerity and discretion!

Number Four Personal Year

The theme for this year is work. The year’s vibration brings you serious opportunity and expects you to deliver with ‘hard yakka’ and commitment in regards to your plans. This is a practical year, not a year for day dreaming or haphazard adventures. It is a time for you to build, based on practical values and constant application. You will be expected to manage your affairs and finances with efficiency and discipline. This is where you start laying the foundations for the security and stability that is possible for the future. If you feel restricted or confined, accept this and make the most with what you have, restriction is part of the number four vibration. In this way life forces you to stick to the task at hand to ensure sound results. This year success will come through self-discipline and commitment.

It’s time to do a stock take in all the areas of your life. Both business and personal aspects should be considered in an economic sense in order for you to know what your starting base is for future growth and direction. When you discipline yourself to do this, you will definitely experience the satisfaction of having achieved and accomplished what you set yourself to do. This will then set the pace for more freedom next year.

Social activities and enjoyment are also on the agenda. When others ask for your help, be gracious, understanding and obliging even if you do not feel like it. Understand that being helpful and generous does not mean being a push over. Family and all that it stands for will be in force this year. This is a time for buying, selling and bartering. Be sure to read the small print before signing any documents. Get a check up and keep healthy. Establish good eating habits, adequate R & R and a workable exercise program.

Number Five Personal Year

After the practical requirements of last year, you can definitely sense the load lifting from your shoulders. Freedom is the keyword for this year. More than ever, you will want to think and act according to your way, your standards. Do not be critical of others if they do not share your bravado this year. Take care that you do not venture, “where angels fear to tread,” for the daring impulse of the number five is there to test your response to every situation during its influence. This is a people number and much can be gained when you get out there and mix with the public. Enjoy community activities, entertainment, groups and career opportunities. Anything different will hold your interest this year. Work and career in the public sector will bring you success and achievement.

Stand still for a moment and consider the opportunities that life is now offering you. Make a conscious decision as to which of these you want to act upon. Enjoy the new contacts and advancement of the year. Expect changes as old problems resolve themselves. Expect the unexpected. Be aware that impatience, criticism and selfishness will get you nowhere fast. Be discreet and avoid arguments. Demonstrate versatility and flexibility in business and social interests. Spirituality will feature in your life this year, even if there has been no previous interest on your part.

Whatever you do this year be clear about any dealings, which could result in legal problems. Take time to care for others and you will be rewarded with inspiration. Use good judgment in all that you do and put more zest into your life. Allow yourself to enjoy the thrill and excitement that the year has in store.

Number Six Personal Year

You have now entered the second half of your present nine-year cycle. This year will start to bear fruit on the work and application of your past efforts. Results will depend on your attitude towards what life is offering you. This is your year for service and duty, which will be intermingled with pleasure as well as with problems. If you wish this to be a happy and successful year, then you will have to accept these responsibilities with grace.

The number six is the number of ideals. By all means live your life according to your ideals and standards, but remember that others also have the right to live according to theirs. Be considerate and understanding. Bear in mind that acceptance and compromise does not mean that you necessarily agree with the situation or issue in question, but rather that you respect the other person’s right to his or her say. In other words it is OK to agree to disagree.

You will feel a degree urgency with the wish to settle down and to settle affairs this year, both in business and in your private life. You may feel that you just want to ’wrap things up’ so to speak. Issues will need to be discussed and negotiated, so get advice from those in the know. Personal or business relationships will demand that you lend a hand and show that you care. The number six being the number of the heart and home means that family, romance, children, parents and relatives will want a little part of you this year. Make sure that the love you give is true; otherwise it could lead to separations and arguments. Take care of any health issues around you and enjoy the family celebrations and festivities that this year brings. Take time to enjoy the beauty that surrounds you and be grateful for the blessings.

Number Seven Personal Year

After the busy pace and responsibilities of last year, this year is your sabbatical year. New ways of thinking and acting are a part of this year’s vibration. Feelings of aloneness, ’the blues’, and a pull away from the social scene will be strong even in the midst of many activities. Others may misunderstand your need to withdraw into your own space, for this year you will want to spend more time with yourself in quiet contemplation, or just ’to be’. The year will offer you the opportunity to get in touch with your higher self. You will come to realize the importance of spirituality in your life and the necessary balance between the material and the spiritual.

It is OK to slow down when you do not feel up to par. Stepping back and going with the flow will win for you this year. Accept opportunities that come your way, but understand that this is not a time for you to push for, or to demand what you want. Do not waste your time trying to convince others. Doing so will only cause you distress and bring you further delays. The number seven tends to bring changes, with the possibility of a loss or break up of old interests or situations. Your new way of seeing things and the acceptance that things are just as they should be for the present, will resolve any problems and invite the luck of the number seven into your life. This is not a good time for you to gamble your lifesavings or to take uncalculated risks. For best results let your wisdom rule over your emotions this year. It is a good time for mental pursuits; if you have wanted to take up a new study or anything related to advancing your knowledge, this is the year to do it.

Indulge yourself in a little TLC. Allow time to enjoy your own company, take time to rest and to take care of your health. The time is right for travel connected to learning. If you are planning a trip away connected to training or learning, or for gaining new skills, now is the time to take it. Make the most of this sabbatical year.

Number Eight Personal Year

There is a definite sense of power and purpose in your stride; this is your power year! Personal, financial and business interests will have you re thinking and re organising your plans and expectations. Dealings with real estate, renovations and money will keep you busy. Decide what you want to do and be realistic about your ability, your skills and your accomplishments. This is the time for you to go after what you want. Place your talents and skills on the market. This is your year for recognition. If you feel that you deserve a pay increase or a promotion, state your case in a businesslike manner, assert your expectations and go for it with confidence.

Continue taking those vitamins; you’ll need them in order to keep up with this year’s demands. Interesting people and experiences are part of the year. This will be a busy one, demanding much of your time and energy. Be discreet where love affairs are concerned. Family and health issues will call for your attention and you will need to make time for these even in the midst your many activities.

Eat healthy foods and be kind to your digestive system this year. Balance action with resting and relaxing. The push for ambition and accomplishment will give you little time to rest, so you will need to make time. Towards the end of the year you will find yourself well established where it matters. To ensure optimum success keep a happy disposition and find an outlet that will benefit others as well as yourself.

Number Nine Personal Year

You are now preparing yourself for the end of your present cycle of experience, with the start of a new nine year cycle next year. Conclusions and endings are in the air. Perhaps this year will mark the completion of a study or a work that you have been involved in. Make a decision to let go of anything that is not necessary or that you no longer want in your life. This is the time for you to clear out your wardrobe and to get rid of all those things that you have been holding onto just in case they might be needed. You know those relationships that don’t allow you to grow and to evolve and become the wonderful human being that you know you can be? This is the year for you to contemplate the break, however, do so with large doses of understanding, compassion, tolerance and forgiveness for all parties.

Should you feel a pull away from established areas of your life and a turning to new interests, do not allow this to concern you. This is part of the transition from the old to the new. Matters of the heart will feature this year, joy intermingled with sadness. Throughout the year take the opportunities that come to you, but do not go after anything new. This is not the time for you to start new ventures, leave that for next year. Take care of your health and adopt an impersonal view towards life for the time being by thinking of the benefit of others more than your own. Avoid making money an issue this year. Take a step back and enjoy the year as life prepares you for a new start next year. Working with the intention of success for others will bring you greater rewards this year. Make the most of the big breaks as life seeks to reward you in conclusion to the courage and ’go get it’ attitude that you demonstrated last year.
